Lightning Talk: ODI Deputy Director Kim Hicks on Data Accelerators
Kim Hicks, California Office of Data and Innovation (ODI) Deputy Director for Advanced Analytics & Evaluation, spoke about unlocking state departments’ potential with data accelerators at the TechCA Forum on Emerging Technologies on December 5, 2024.
The ODI is helping state agencies modernize operations with two new data accelerator programs. The Modern Data Stack Accelerator enhances data infrastructure and automation, and the Data Science Accelerator applies machine learning to solve key challenges. In her ten-minute lightning talk, Hicks highlights projects on water shortage forecasting and other innovative uses of state data.
