AI Oversight Measures Advance at State Capitol

Several AI-related measures pending at the State Capitol have advanced, moving closer to the governor's desk for approval, including Senate Bill 1047 by Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) which proposes to create the Safe and Secure Innovation for Frontier Artificial Intelligence Models Act. With amendments to the bill, the Assembly Privacy & Consumer Protection Committee passed SB 1047 on Tuesday.

AI Measures Move Forward at State Capitol

As dozens of bills related to artificial intelligence make their way through the legislative process, notable measures that may impact state government operations are moving forward, including two key proposals this week. AI Regulation Measure Passes Committee

A major proposal to regulate artificial intelligence in California has passed its first policy committee.  Senate Bill 1047 by Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) would enact the Safe and Secure Innovation for Frontier Artificial Intelligence Models Act passed on a 9 to 0 vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

Crystal Taylor Appointed as CIO at California Department of Health Care Services

Crystal Taylor has been appointed as Chief Information Officer and Deputy Director of Enterprise Technology Services at the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), where she has spent the past nearly four years serving in various roles including as Division Chief for IT Strategy and Chief of Product for the Medi-Cal Enterprise Services Modernization Division.
