GovOps Secretary Nick Maduros to keynote Emerging Technologies Forum

Published On: September 10, 2026

California Government Operations Agency Secretary Nick Maduros will deliver the opening keynote address at the fourth annual Emerging Technologies Forum on Oct. 15 in Sacramento.

The daylong program will feature executives from across California state government and industry, with discussions focused on government modernization, digital service delivery, technology procurement, and related efforts to enhance state programs and operations.

Hosted by the California Center for Government Innovation and TechCA, the forum will include keynote addresses, lightning talks, panel discussions, fireside chats, and other sessions highlighting technology and management practices across state government.

Topics will include artificial intelligence, data governance, user-centered design, iterative and continuous improvement, and new emerging technologies and practices shaping government operations. See highlights from past forums here.

Last month, event organizers issued a call for proposals for 10-minute lightning talks from government and industry, continuing the annual practice of sourcing forum content directly from the community, bringing the best stories and ideas to the stage. The deadline for proposals is Sept. 15 at 5 pm.

This year’s forum will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Aggie Square, located in Sacramento’s innovation district on the UC Davis Sacramento campus.
