Leaders in California’s state government explored innovative approaches to technology and governance at the TechCA Forum on Emerging Technologies on December 5, 2024. The panel included current and former officials: Government Operations Agency Secretary Amy Tong, California’s first Government Operations Secretary Marybel Batjer, and Former CalHHS Secretary Michael Wilkening, moderated by Former Director of Finance Keely Bosler, who also served as Gov. Brown’s Cabinet Secretary. The hour-long discussion covered the history and current efforts to modernize state operations, integrate AI, and adopt modular and agile methodologies to improve service delivery. CalHHS Office of Technology and Solutions Integration Director Adam Dondro introduced the panel.
