State CTO Ayushi Roy to speak at Emerging Technologies Forum
Newly appointed California State Chief Technology Officer Ayushi Roy will speak at the fourth annual Emerging Technologies Forum on Oct. 15 in Sacramento.
The state CTO plays a key role in technology policy, standards, architecture, and statewide strategy across California government.
Roy, appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in August, has led federal technology modernization and digital services efforts during a career spanning government, nonprofits, and academia. Before joining the state, she served as chief program officer for the New Practice Lab at New America and as a lecturer at Harvard Kennedy School.
She previously held technology roles with the U.S. General Services Administration, the White House Office of Management and Budget and 18F, where she served as Director of State and Local Technology. Roy also worked on the congressionally mandated study examining the feasibility of an IRS-run Direct File system.
Hosted by the California Center for Government Innovation and TechCA, the Emerging Technologies Forum will be held at Aggie Square on the UC Davis Sacramento campus and begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.
