Secretary of State to Launch Enhanced Bizfile Online Portal

By Published On: March 3, 2022

The State of California Business Programs is launching their Enhanced Bizfile Online Portal on March 29, 2022, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.

The enhanced online portal assists businesses in filing, searching and ordering business records.

Some of the Business Entities enhancements include:

  • Over 70 online forms for corporations, LLCs, and LPs.
  • Online Certified Copies and Certificates of Status.
  • Online Certification Verification Search.
  • Online Entity Name Reservations.

The portal includes a more robust business search, free access to over 17 million images of corporations, LLC and LP documents, and a shopping cart for easy payment.

In preparation for the launch, several online filing applications are temporarily being taken offline.

LLC Formations, LLC Terminations, LLC/Corp Statement of Information, UCC bizfile Online, California Business Search, and Legacy Online Resubmissions will be taken offline at various points in March and April.

According to the online portal, in-person document pickup has resumed in the Sacramento office as of March 1.

“Documents that are eligible for daily pickup include business entity filings, statements of information, records requests, uniform commercial code documents, and apostilles. As a result of lobby pickup resuming, we will also charge the applicable special handling fee for any documents dropped off in the Sacramento lobby.”

The Los Angeles office public counter remains closed but is accepting submissions via drop boxes in the main lobby.

The website notes that online submissions will take priority over drop-off submissions.
