Optm Appoints Andrew Hinkle as Field CTO, Strengthening IT Advisory and Services for the State of California
Optm is thrilled to welcome Andrew Hinkle as our new Field CTO, focused on advising the State of California around a wide range of IT hardware and services. Andrew’s long history and expertise working with the State – specifically in the areas of application modernization, cybersecurity, cloud, automation, and storage – make him the perfect fit for this role.
Andrew spent 24 years in IT at the State of California across a variety of positions, culminating in his role as CTO and CIO of the Department of State Hospitals. While at DSH, Andrew led efforts for many of the department’s large enterprise projects, including implementing an electronic medical records system across all state hospitals. Andrew and his team successfully led the transition to remote work for thousands of workers during the COVID-19, providing important tools for remote patient services. This experience gives him a unique perspective and ability to address the real-world challenges the State faces both internally and externally.
While at DSH, Andrew led a variety of enterprise efforts including transitioning thousands of workers to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. His ability to understand and address the real-world issues the State faces both internally and externally demonstrates his unique and valued skill set.
Andrew’s deep commitment to learning has helped him stay ahead of emerging threats, stay abreast of emerging trends, and stay focused on how to carefully navigate the political landscape of the State. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government from California State University, Sacramento. He is also an alumnus of the state’s Information Technology Leadership Academy (ITLA 24).
