The Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller (AC) has been awarded the prestigious Best All-Around Award at this year’s Databricks Data + AI Summit.

The Auditor-Controller’s office, responsible for managing essential data related to the county’s finances, personnel, payroll, and budgets, has faced challenges with outdated and fragmented data management systems. The integration of Databricks has transformed data processes, enhancing data capabilities with centralized repositories, robust visualizations for executive decision-making, and streamlined development of analytics tools. These improvements have resulted in operational efficiencies, including real-time annual statistics reporting, vendor payment reporting, and comprehensive budget and expense reporting.

The Best All-Around Award recognizes the team for their innovation across all six Data Team Award categories, embodying the spirit of a truly empowered data team at scale. This honor highlights the team’s dedication to advancing data management and analytics, setting a benchmark for future expansions, including advanced data analysis and machine learning capabilities to benefit both county employees and residents.
