Fi$Cal Announces COVID-19 Transaction Dashboard
On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Fi$Cal announced via their newsletter the creation of their COVID-19 Transaction Dashboard onto Power BI, their data visualization and analytics software.
The dashboard, which was released to all state departments in early October, was created to allow the review and verification of all COVID-related transactions as they relate to response, contact tracing, testing, and stimulus programs.
The creation of the dashboard comes at the direction Budget Letter 20-12, from June 8, 2020.
“The main goal is to monitor and standardize the reporting of expenditures, obligations, and receipt of funds [related to COVID-19],” according to the budget letter.
Fi$Cal has also been considering publishing all COVID-related expenditures to Open Fi$Cal, their financial transparency website. If they decide to publish their expenditures, the level of detail will match the level of detail found in the spending data currently available on Open Fi$Cal.
