Eva Robinson has joined the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) as its new Agency Information Officer (AIO), the department has confirmed.

“As the Agency Information Officer at the California Department of Veterans Affairs, my focus is on ensuring IT systems are reliable, secure, and efficient, enhancing operational effectiveness, supporting our workforce, and delivering excellent service so California’s veterans and their families receive the highest quality care,” Robinson said in an email. 

Previously, she served as the Project Controller for the $1.2 billion EDDNext modernization project, where she managed project governance, budgeting, contracts, and financial oversight while providing strategic guidance to stakeholders on fiscal matters and expenditures.

Over the past decade, Robinson has held senior IT leadership roles across several California state agencies, including the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), according to her bio provided by CalVet.

Robinson currently serves as a Commissioner on the California Student Aid Commission(CSAC), where she was appointed by Governor Newsom to help shape policies and initiatives that expand access to higher education for students across the state.

She also serves as a Commissioner on the Sacramento County Women and Girls Commission, where she works to enhance the social welfare, health, economic status, and overall quality of life for women and girls in the region.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Electronics and Control Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

CalVet works to connect veterans with state and federal benefits, including health care, education, housing, and employment services. The department emphasizes delivering services with dignity and compassion to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families.
