Published On: October 7, 2021

The Government Operations Agency (GovOps) has launched its Cradle-To-Career System website, which provides user-friendly resources such as data on education and job outcomes, tools for college planning, as well as training and outreach.

Ultimately, the website’s tools (which are powered by students’ transcript data) are meant to streamline the college and financial aid process, monitor progress towards requirements, and provide colleges with data and information that will inform admissions and academic placement.

The state is also seeking their first executive director for the Cradle-To-Career System, calling the position “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the data landscape of California and improve the outcomes of its residents.”

“The ideal candidate has California-specific education policy knowledge, a demonstrated commitment to providing data that advances equity and outcomes for underserved communities, and provides leadership for a data-centric enterprise and growing a team,” per a press release from the California Data System Team.

Such a candidate, according to the press release, should be a seasoned, passionate leader with strong collaborative skills and knowledge in California-specific policy knowledge.

Applications are due by Oct. 19, 2021.
